THE PRIVATE CLINIC
(02) 9690 0000
The Private Clinic is a surgery clinic dedicated in providing the best care for your reproductive health. Other businesses offering intimate services in the Eastern Suburbs can be traced near them. The surgery clinic is open from 8am to 4pm, from Mondays to Saturdays. You can book a consultation or enquire about the services they provide by calling them.
The centre can easily be accessed by foot, bus, cab or train. Those coming from the Central Station will only have to take a two-minute walk from the train station. If you are travelling by bus, alight at Railway Square and wend your way towards the Devonshire Street pedestrian tunnel. Even if the clinic operates at a certain time of the day, the patients can reach them for after-hours assistance or question regarding the performed medical procedure.
The Private Clinic’s expertise is pregnancy termination. The state law allows abortions to be performed only by licensed practitioners and with permission of the patient. However, the doctor should qualify first whether the pregnancy has an impact on the patient’s mental or physical health before going through the procedure. Moreover, social and economic factors can be weighed when making that decision.
Any surgical procedure has risks. But with the skills and experience of their doctors and the equipment they use, there is a small possibility of contracting serious medical issues after the procedure.
- Pregnancy Termination
The clinic encourages its patients to visit them for an initial consultation prior to going through the procedure to discuss other possible courses of action regarding the pregnancy. If the patient already made up her mind, or if the doctor deemed that the pregnancy is affecting the patient’s health, the abortion will have the green light.
Patients who opt to terminate their pregnancy will undergo a FREE counselling regarding the future contraception methods they can use. If they already have one in place, they can opt for a new contraception method. The most popular is the oral contraceptive pill. If there is enough stock, the Private Clinic will give you a one month supply of pills and a prescription for a refill.
Long-term contraception, such as IUDs and vasectomy, is also possible. Before going for IUDs, you need to consult first with your doctor to know what type of IUDs matches your needs. Men are also encouraged to undergo vasectomy. It is a 30-minute procedure that has no serious side effects.
Vasectomy reversal procedures can be performed, in case that you and your partner decided to rear another child. However, it does not come cheap and has a low success rate. So before you or your man get snipped, you should think thoroughly if it’s the way to go.
The Private Clinic gives a detailed information sheet regarding all the procedures they provide. It discusses the do’s and dont’s before and after the procedure, and what happens during the surgery. You may call the clinic to enquire about how much these procedures cost, and if your health insurance covers the cost of the surgery.
