- Prostate Laser Surgery
Dr. Andrew Brooks performs prostate laser surgery, which is a treatment to mitigate the urinary symptoms due to an enlarged prostate. In general, there are various kinds of prostate laser surgery. These are the photoselective vaporisation of the prostate (PVP, Holmium laser ablation of the prostate (HoLAP) and Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). The kind of laser surgery that you will go through is based on how enlarged your prostate is, your health, and the equipment at hand.
Before the procedure, Dr. Brooks will advise you to refrain from medications, such as blood thinners and pain relievers. This is to minimise the risk of bleeding during the surgery. In addition, you should have planned for your transportation since you won’t be able to drive after the procedure.
- Erectile Dysfunction
There are various reasons why men experience erectile dysfunction (ED). On the physical side, heart diseases and diabetes contribute to the likelihood of ED. Relationship issues, anxiety and depression also play a role in ED.
Dr. Brooks will go over your medical and sexual history. This is to better understand what causes your condition, and how it affects you. After that, he will have to examine your penis and testicles to check if there’s something wrong with them. Hair loss and large breasts are also a telltale sign of ED. Blood test, urine test and the overnight erection test will also show if you have ED and what is the reason for it.
- Vasectomy and Vasectomy Reversal
There are only a few private practices that offer both vasectomy and vasectomy reversal procedures. With Dr. Brooks, patients are assured a safe and effective surgery. In a vasectomy reversal, the patient’s sperm pathway will be rejoined to get into the semen. It can either be by reattaching the ends of the vas deferens, or connecting the vas deferens to the epididymis. You can call Dr. Brooks at (02) 9633.2088 to enquire about the procedures and their costs.
